Christchurch Earthquake Coin Trail

We have been having wonderful conversations and explorations with our children over the tragic earthquake in Christchurch. These have provided us with the most amazing learning journey that is evolving on the walls inside the kindergarten.

We believe this is a time to come together as a community and be giving of ourselves to help support children in need in Christchurch. We have initiated a coin trail within our kindergarten and have challenged other kindergartens in Palmerston Noth to join us in coming together to help those currently less fortunate than us.

Our aim is to teach our children empathy and to be giving of themselves towards their peers who are currently less fortunate. In the future it will be so cool for our children to skype or see photos of how their contribution has aided in helping another kindergarten.

Trey thank you for adding to our coin trail today as you carefully pulled off each piece of cellotape to stick down your coin. You told me you need lots of tape to hold it down. I know you have friends in Christchurch, doesn't your godmother live there? Please let them know we are currently thinking of them.
